故事发生在湖南湘江边某城市。何娜（周文奕 饰）与母亲张兰（郑爽 饰）相依为命，原本幸福的母女俩因混混林果（刘前程 饰）的出现发生了质的变化。原来，林果是妈妈新交的男友，何娜生日那天，她目睹了林果与其他女孩在一起的场景，回家告诉母亲后，家庭从此失去了安宁。林果在厌倦了张兰后，卷走了她的全部积蓄逃之夭夭，何娜也因此跟母亲彻底决裂。深受刺激的张兰醉酒后跌落阳台住进了医院，何娜不得己寻找林果，她想要回被他卷走的钱付手术费，恰巧遇上了林果曾经纠缠过的女孩夏虹（祁琪 饰），此时的夏虹己怀了林果的孩子，她们共同寻找着那个孽债累累的男人......。Inspired by actual California desert occult activity, MAN’s SON centers around a young couple who travel to the desert to create an authentic audition tape for an up-and-coming Charles Manson film.
