上世纪初，江南古城，三个没落家族的少年成为好朋友，阿双母亲自杀一家星散，只身漂泊求学，到北平读了不交学费的俄文专修馆；张复读北大一年转入学费便宜的北洋大学，准备毕业做律师；育育酷爱读书写作，读了学费不贵的武昌中华大学，创办了乌托邦式的互助社……他们是日后成为中共早期领导人的瞿秋白、张太雷、恽代英。瞿秋白是牺牲于敌人屠刀下的最高中共领导人；张太雷是牺牲于战斗一线的最高级别领导人；恽代英创办并主编的《中国青年》杂志今年100年了。影片讲述了三位少年的“觅渡”一生……。Based on a true story of the American Civil War, culminating at the Battle of New Market, May 1864. A group of teenage cadets sheltered from war at the Virginia Military Institute must confront the horrors of an adult world when they are called upon to defend the Shenandoah Valley.
