达摩祖师（尔冬升 饰）本是印度南部国家的三王子，曾传授武艺给少林，是中国佛家始祖。达摩父王病重，他在回宫探望的路上却遭遇杀手伏击，其他王子对即将继承王位的达摩心怀恨意，王宫之中暗流涌动。盘若多罗法师将老王身上的冤魂祛除，又引导达摩修行。达摩独具慧根，经过考验终于拜入盘若多罗门下，后者劝说达摩在自己死后67年才能去中国修行。多年以后，达摩在南北朝梁武帝时期登陆南海，梁武帝令东林御寺予以接待，达摩见解玄妙，却令梁武帝不满，随即独自云游四方，最后在少林寺后山面壁静坐，三年不吃不喝不动。龙山寺神光和尚（樊少皇 饰）曾是杀戮无数的战将，皈依后夜夜被血腥噩梦困扰。神光为求修行解脱，远赴少林拜见达摩……。Aging down on her luck cabaret singer murders a respectable composer.
